I am Weeks DuBose. I am and have been the pastor of Westwood Baptist Church for almost twenty-two years. Thank you for taking time to visit our web site and for allowing me to introduce you to Westwood Baptist Church.
Westwood is an independent Baptist Church that voluntarily fellowships locally, statewide and nationally with the American Baptist Association of churches (www.abaptist.org) for the purpose of spreading the gospel. We are fundamental, conservative and biblical in our beliefs and practices. Our church government is democratic in nature, and the Bible is our only rule of faith and practice. Our worship is traditional (we primarily sing hymns mixed occasionally with appropriate praise songs).
Our services are relaxed and friendly but respectful. We practice a “no frills” style of worship preaching the gospel as it is to people as they are.
WBC is a missions-minded church. We support mission endeavors on local, state, national and foreign levels. WBC has successfully established other churches by sending out our own missionary and organizing five other churches. WBC practices Faith Promise Mission giving. This scriptural program enables us to give to missions in amounts comparable and even exceeding churches much larger than ours.
